What kind of vain tool would create a website using their own name?
I guess my kind.
It isn’t meant to be a mark of vanity, though anyone who has known me for more than a few minutes will confirm that my self-esteem is fully functional. In fact, over the years I have stated on many occasions that I am simply ‘too perfect to be egocentric’ and I stand by it.
KeithDickens.com isn’t meant to be a showcase of my ridiculous ego – I save that for live meetings. Most people who really know me understand that its all just a cover story, anyway. Read enough from me and you’ll likely recognize the subtle influences of demons you probably battle yourself.
I write these pages for expression, creativity, humor (often failed), family, and community. They are the ramblings of a not-so-young liberal trying to convince the world that one of progress and vision’s primary directives is to protect tradition and encourage it to thrive – culture isn’t built on the future. Here there be stories about politics, entertainment, board games, writing, organization, professional growth, and minimalist reductions. There’s also a lot of bad decisions and a little good advice. I can’t say it’s only about UPS because the DOWNS are so damned interesting.
Also, this webhole of mine is the log of a socially-awkward introvert on a strange quest to figure out how he became a social media guru when he can barely stand to be around people. Life is funny that way, ain’t it?
I didn’t choose to use my name as the domain for this codex of bullcrap because I thought my name had impact or because I was particularly fond of the way it sounds. I chose it because it’s my self-brand. I claim accountability and responsibility for every word. I stick by it – even when the humor falls flat. Which is often.
This is KeithDickens.com because I want you to know I mean it.
